I don't even know where to begin with this post.  I have so many wonderful stories and tidbit about Jeanella and Nasir's GORGEOUS wedding in Monterrey, CA that I can't pick just one to share.  So instead I will just tell you that as we walked away from their reception my husband and I agreed that their wedding was the funnest wedding we've been to all year.  Which is saying a lot considering we had our own wedding earlier this year!

It was a beautiful March day in Monterrey when Jeanella and Nasir said "I Do" at Lover's Point Park in the presence of about 35 of their closest friends and family.  This beautiful, intimate ceremony led into a reception that will forever stick in my mind as a favorite.  From the fabulous food (honestly, the best I've ever had) to great company.  Top it off with a beautiful bride and groom and it's a wedding to remember.  Thank you, Jeanella and Nasir, for allowing Cody and I to be with you, every step of the way, as you two became one.

Chico, CA Cake Smash Photographer : Adysen Monroe

I am so thrilled to get to work with my favorite little miss again, Adysen Monroe!  I had to miss her first birthday in July due to wedding season, but her Mom and I worked out a time when we were in Vegas for WPPI to get together and take Adysen's first year cake smash!   Unfortunately, Adysen isn't a fan of sweets and really isn't a fan of being dirty.  She didn't want to play with the cake, didn't want to eat the cake, and overall wasn't thrilled with this session.  Fortunately, she's adorable so we still got some wonderful pictures.

Yes, the cake progressively gets destroyed throughout the session.  If you must know, that was me and Susan trying to show her it was OK to play with that cake.  She still wasn't having it.  We joke that if we'd used a salad or a veggie tray things would have gone much, much better!

Chico, CA Wedding Photographer : Jeanella + Nasir Day 2

Welcome to Day 2 (really, it's Day 3 but we weren't there for Day 1...) of Jeanella and Nasir's Modesto, CA wedding!  Be sure to check out Day 1 (really Day 2) here.

Today was their wedding reception where they also did their ring exchange and cake cutting.  It was a beautiful night for February, a little chilly but not too bad and clear skies.  After Jeanella got ready we went out to a park near Nasir's old high school to take some night pictures.  Nasir's friend John came along to provide some comic relief and some interesting portraits!  You'll have to come back in a few weeks for Jeanella and Nasir's Monterey wedding (yes, there's another wedding ceremony here!) to see more of this beautiful couple.  But, for now, here is Day 2 (or 3...) of their Modesto Pakistani wedding.

BIG Changes Coming!

I feel like every February/March I announce big changes coming our way.  Partly this is because I attend the annual WPPI conference and trade show in Las Vegas where I learn of new (and better!) vendors, new products, and learn from some of the industry's greatest.  This year is no different, but this year we have even more changes coming from a completely different source.

On February 28th, 2012 in Georgetown, Grand Cayman Cody and I were married.  I promptly changed my last name.  I am no longer Jaye Reilly.  Therefor, I will no longer be calling the company Jaye Reilly Photography.  Furthermore, in the past two years the company has become more of a group effort, with Cody and Ashley shooting a solo wedding and Susan expanding out to Las Vegas.  So I have decided to remove my name altogether.  Starting over the next few weeks I will start the process of changing Jaye Reilly Photography to Beautiful Life Photography.

We are also dividing up the wedding and portrait business from the boudoir side of things.  April will bring us Beautiful Life Intimates, a separate blogsite to keep the boudoir images apart from the wedding, portraits, newborn, etc. work.

Along with a new album company and new products I will be introducing over the next few months we will soon have a new name!  Work has already started over on the Beautiful Life Photography site and you can watch the progress as it happens over at http://www.beautiful-life-photo.com!

Chico Wedding Photographer : Jeanella + Nasir : Day 1

I have been a horrible blogger and I would really like to apologize for that. especially to my clients who have been waiting to see their photos posted. I am getting married myself in under 2 weeks and my soon-to-be-sister-in-law just had a baby girl last week, so you can imagine life has just been insane!  I WILL get caught up.  At some point!

We leave for WPPI in Las Vegas in an hour where I will be joyfully reunited with Susan after many, many months apart.  So stay tuned to see the insanity that usually happens when the two of us get together.  Following that we all fly out to Fort Lauderdale for our wedding.  More on that later!

Right now, I'd love to share with you an amazing wedding that I had the honor of capturing last month.  You met Jeanella + Nasir a few months ago when I shot their destination engagement session in Muir Woods.  Well, the time has come to tie the know!  This awesome couple had a two day wedding celebration starting with the Mehndi Party on Friday night.

The younger girls were the most enthusiastic about the henna.

I think she was nervous.

It was already dark when we set out to do the portraits, but we used what we could of the Modesto "skyline".  We went back to the hotel where Cody met Jeanella back in October at the Central CA Bridal Show.  It was kind of fun going back to where we all started!

I've always loved Henna and I think Jeanella's was exceptionally beautiful!

I'm adding this one for Cody.  He came up to me at one point because he just HAD to show me this amazing photo he just captured.  I have to admit, she's pretty darn cute.  I promised him I'd include this one in the blog post so, Cody, here it is!

It was a fun night!  But the celebration of Jeanella and Nasir's marriage wasn't over!  Saturday brought an even larger celebration as they held their reception for their extended family and friends.  Stay tuned, I'll blog that soon... I promise!  Along with everything else I'm needing to blog!

TWO Last Minute Minneapolis Boudoir Marathons!

A lot of demand has come in during the last 24 hours that I have decided to hold TWO Minneapolis Boudoir Marathons!  Marathon #1 will be December 29th and Marathon #2 will be January 3rd!  There are only FOUR slots available on each day and they are already filling up fast.  Email me quickly if you are interested!

UPDATE: I got a ton of inquiries for January 3rd and there didn't seem to be as much interest in December 29th so I have canceled the December 29th shoot and have added 3 sessions onto January 3rd!  There are just TWO SESSIONS LEFT!  

Chico, CA Boudoir and Lingerie Photographer : Ms. C's Nice/Naughty

When Ms. C came into my studio for her Christmas themed-boudoir session I'm not entirely sure she realized just how themed this session was going to be!  After taking a look at her wardrobe choices- a girlie pink teddy, a sexy black get-up, and her Christmas lingerie I realized we had a fantastic theme here- Naughty and Nice!  She loves the idea so we went with it, playing around with "nice", "naught", and then threw a little holiday cheer into the mix!  Needless to say, this Swedish beauty has a very lucky guy getting a fantastic gift this Christmas!
